Indian space agency is the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) created in 1969. A Ministry of Space was created in 1972 and India has its own launch vehicles. ISRO has a commercial arm named Antrix. The space sector was opened to private and foreign companies in 2020 and is to be regulated by IN-SPACe (Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre).
