Program: Dong Fang Hong

Means "The Orient is red", also called DFH or PRC

People's Republic of China program which contains numerous sub-programs. Very few details are available. Some older satellite have evolved in now public programs.

Among those subprograms the Zhongxing alias Chinasat telecommunication program.

In Aug 2001, a company named Dongfanghong Aerospace Satellite Co was formed to build small low cost satellites. It is a joint venture between state-owned China Aerospace Science & Technology Corp and China Research Institute of Space Technology.
