Program: Eorsat


Called US-P in Russia, Electronic Ocean Reconnaissance Satellite

Russian program part of the Cosmos constellation. Those satellites are observation satellites designed to monitor activity of foreign navies.

The series started in 1974 and around 40 satellites had been launched in mid-1995. The system went operational in 1978.
