Chinese ocean monitoring satellite program operated by the National Marine Satellite Application Center. Will study sea level, wind, temperatures. Satellites based on CAST bus.

The first generation was launched in 2002

Instruments onboard include a microwave imager, a dual-band radar altimeter, and a Ku-band radar scatterometer. Also has a ASI receiver.
