Program: Vitasat

Volunteers in Technical Assistance

VITA is a non-profit private organization which uses LEO satellites for communications. In the past they have used Uosat 2, Uosat 3 and Posat. Now they use their own satellite payload: Vitasat 1R which replaces the Vitasat payload.

VITA holds an FCC licence for its communications.

VITA plans to setup a consortium with other LEO satellite operators. SatelLife ( Healthsat) and Posat have agreed to join in. The consortium will operate a global email system dedicated to humanitarian and development purposes.
