Active Cavity Radiometer Irradiance Monitor
Uses the ACRIM instrument which has already flown twice on
SMM
and
UARS.
It was the first instrument to clearly demonstrate that the total radiant
energy from the sun was not a constant.
The satellite has pointing accuracy problems.
Close miss with
Sentinel 1A
in April 2014.
