Also called Foton M1
Was to operate as an orbital laboratory, containing a total of 44 technological
and research experiments from Russia and countries in the European Space Agency
as well as the United States, Canada, Indonesia and Japan. 6425 kg at
launch.
The mission was expected to last 15 days. Foton-M1 is an improved version of
the Foton spacecraft, with larger battery capacity, enhanced thermal control
and increased telemetry and telecommand capabilities.
