Cause
launch failure
Was to be the first 1 meter commercial remote sensing satellite. Its launched was delayed 1 year because of difficulties to setup the onboard software to prevent pictures of US allies to be taken and because of gyroscopes problems.
The satellite was insured for $157 million.
