The total cost of the project is INR6.1 billion ($133.2 million) with a foreign
exchange component of INR3.8 billion. Of this amount, INR3 billion will be for
the satellite, INR2.5 billion for the launch and INR0.6 billion for
insurance.
After launch, the global cost was given as $149 million.
Carries an auxiliary payload: a global positioning system called GAGAN (GPS
Aided Geo Augmented Navigation).
