Metop A
The LRPT side A transponder failed during testing in November 2006.
Several spurious shutdown of the payload occured (Nov 2006, Apr 2007). Declared
operational in May 2007.
On 4 Jul 2007 the primary AHRPT failed. This device provides the 3.5 Mbps
high-resolution downlink. Experienced several glitches which lead to payload
shutdown (Sep 2007, Mar 2008). It was restored in early 2009 but over a limited
area (Atlantic or Europe). The problem is apparently linked to the radiation
environment.
